New for the 2012 Outlander is an "ECO" indicator light. Located in the instrument cluster, the "ECO" illuminates at a given vehicle speed and rev range to let the driver know that they are presently maximizing their vehicle's fuel efficiency -- the longer the duration that they drive with the "ECO" light activated, the better their fuel economy.

In 2012 Outlander models equipped with the Touring package (GT model) and the Premium package (SE model), a helpful new rearview camera system with display screen integrated into the rearview mirror is included that provides an additional level of safety as it projects a clear view of objects or obstructions positioned directly behind the vehicle.
